Carers Network: our work in impact assessment
PROCESS
Impact Evaluation
Based in Central London, Carer’s Network’s vision is for every unpaid carer to be recognised, and to lead healthy and fulfilling lives with control over their caring role. For nearly 30 years, the charity has been working with carers to provide information, advice, advocacy and support, along with social events, breaks and other services to ensure that carers are well informed, supported and healthy.
In recent years, Carers Network has delivered a specialist carers project which has been funded (twice) by the Lloyds Bank Foundation. We worked with the organisation to conduct an impact assessment of the project, which involved one-to-one meetings with delivery staff and partner organisations, carer interviews, case studies, and an extensive survey of project beneficiaries.
THEMES
Health Systems
We believe that evidencing success is a crucial ingredient to ensuring an organisation’s on-going viability, whilst also demonstrating impact, value for money and to examine how improvements can be made to project delivery. We always put the organisation’s beneficiaries in the heart of any evaluative assignment we are doing. We have undertaken over 50 separate impact assessment studies with small and medium-sized charities and organisations, and we are now producing many more impact reports as a part of our innovatory ‘Steps to Sustainability’ support programme.
