Our Approach
By providing essential community services, Re:dish aims to improve the lives of all community members in Reddish, Stockport. Re:dish runs a food bank service and a dementia-friendly cafe. The charity aims to supplement its income by running a charity shop and has recently secured a community hub, thanks to which they may expand their services.
The Project Brief
As they prepare the hub for use, Re:dish sought our help to understand how to optimise its usefulness to the community. Civil Society Consulting has been commissioned to conduct a community consultation exercise. The findings will be used to ensure the hub will reflect the priorities and aspirations of the community in Reddish
First, the team conducted an internal focus group with Re:dish staff, volunteers and trustees to ensure everyone is on board with the approach.
Then have investigated the community’s needs and interests through surveys and consultative focus group discussions to collect input on the hub.
Finally, Civil Society Consulting constituted a group of “Community Activators” to continue representing the community’s interests and supporting the hub’s ongoing development with the Re:dish team.
Impact
Through our experience in community consultation, evidence-based policymaking and working with communities with high levels of social need and diversity, CSC helped Re:dish connect with its community in a meaningful and sustainable way to ensure they can continue fulfilling its mission and improve the lives of Reddish inhabitants.
