Capturing the social value of Mobilise’s core service to unpaid carers

PROCESS

Training

Facilitation

Mobilise, a social enterprise led by carers, identifies and supports unpaid carers across the UK. It provides simple online solutions to over 70 000 people, including email support, digital tools, and online platforms for carers to share their experience. Mobilise aims to bring carers together to leverage their collective knowledge and expertise.

The Project Brief

Our Approach

CSC will first review the data collected by Mobilise and conduct workshops with the Mobilise team to understand how the organisation generates impact for carers and partners. After mapping out Mobilise’s impact, CSC will estimate the value of each outcome using financial proxies.

CSC will provide an intuitive SROI Calculation structured in two parts for flexibility of use:

  • First, we will present an estimate of how much local authorities can save from demand reduction for each of Mobilise’s core services.

  • Second, we will produce an estimate of the value Mobilise creates for each carer depending on their profile.

Mobilise needs an efficient solution to capture and communicate its social value to potential partners and extend its reach.

Mobilise has commissioned us to generate a valid estimate of its social return on investment (SROI) which would show the value they create for carers and how much a local authority could save by working with them.

Impact

The SROI Calculation will be used by the Mobilise team to communicate their value to local authorities. By establishing a credible estimate of their social value, Mobilise also wants to set the foundations for further research on carers’ resilience.

The project is due to be completed in April 2024.
